We will be going through all relevant options available in regards to double chin removal, and help you figure out which method is best suited for you.

What is a Double Chin?

Double chin is a condition also known as submental fat. As the name implies, this condition is caused by excess fat under your chin. Double chin is commonly attributed to weight gain, but it does mean that a person must be significantly overweight to develop this condition. Other factors may contribute to this condition, such as age and genetics.

What Causes a Double Chin?

As noted earlier, weight gain is not the only possible cause of this condition. Understanding all the factors that might contribute to a double chin will help you formulate the best possible solution.

1. Age

As we get older, our skin will steadily lose its elasticity. This loss in skin elasticity makes the skin appear saggy and can contribute to a double chin. This is natural and virtually unavoidable; however, this can be slowed down by eating healthy and exercising.

2. Unhealthy Diet

As we have stated earlier, weight gain is not the only cause of a double chin. However, it is one that contributes the most. A diet that centers around high calories and processed foods will lead to weight gain, and in turn, a double chin as well.

3. Genetics

In some cases, genes may also be a factor when it comes to developing a double chin. For individuals who have a family history of excessive skin elasticity, having a double chin can be unavoidable even if the person has a healthy diet and lifestyle.

4. Posture

Poor posture can lead to several conditions, among the list of possible problems is the double chin. While posture won’t instantly affect the chances of developing a double chin, over time, it definitely will. Remember to maintain proper posture with the chin up and straight forward.

Face-Lift

Similar to the liposuction procedure, except the doctor will also be removing saggy and loose skin under the chin. This results in a tighter chin and neck once the process is complete, and the patient fully recovered. Another variation of this procedure is the Sono Bello Lift from the well-known cosmetic clinic of the same name. In this procedure, the patients will be treated via micro-lasers. Thus, you can consider this as laser-assisted liposuction. Prices for face-lift will usually cost anywhere in between $4,000 to $10,000.

Neck-Lift

Like the facelift procedure, a neck lift is designed to tighten the skin around the neck area. By removing excess saggy skin, the doctor will be able to perfectly contour the neck shape while also eliminating the double chin. Neck-lifts are relatively affordable with price ranging between $1,000 to $4,000.

  • Avoid processed foods – Processed foods contain various chemicals/preservatives that can accumulate over time and cause not only weight gain, but also increase health risks.
  • Avoid overeating fried food – Fried food contain higher cholesterol, which is something you should moderate or avoid.
  • Reduce your daily sugar intake – Moderating or removing sugar intake will lead to faster weight loss as sugar contains a lot of calories.
  • Eat more lean protein – Lean protein contains lower calories and fat but is packed with nutrients.
  • Include healthy fats into your daily meals.
  • Switch to whole grains – Whole grains are high in fiber, which is essential for keeping your digestive system clean as well as assisting with weight loss.
